Nancy Balstad - Located on Chick Springs Road (off of Wade Hampton near Henry's Barbecue).    Nancy's massage is very different (from those of us trained in SC) since she was trained in California (where she also taught massage school).  I would characterize her work as a combination of sports and deep tissue.  Nancy's forte is working on spot problem areas but if you request it, she can also do Swedish relaxing or deep tissue massage. Nancy has also had extensive training in MediCupping (also known as massage cupping) and has training in working with cancer patients and those who have had breast cancer.  You can reach Nancy at 949-500-0562.

Valentina Kozyreva, A graduate of the Greenville Technical College Massage Therapy program, her office is in downtown Greenville and you can reach her at 828-777-8486.  There are some entrance stairs and no handicap accessibility that I am aware of.

Ruth McDonough  Located in the Pettigru district downtown Greenville.   Ruth not only is a massage therapist but is a Certified Reflexologist.  She has been in business for a number of years and also works with her husband, Bob, who is a sports massage therapist.   I have received massage from both her and her husband. Their phone number is 864-271-0442. The business name is Blue Ridge Sports and Therapeutic Massage. The office is in a hilly area, is upstairs and does not have handicap accessibility.

Joy Tharpe -  I have received massages from her and found her techniques to be very similar to my own.  Her office is on East North Street and you can call her at 864-729-1920.

Following are some local therapists names and contact information. The only way to know for sure if a therapist is a "fit" for you is to try them! It is my own opinion, that it is a good idea to see several therapists; that way you get to experience different techniques and also have a better chance of getting in at the last minute if you have several to choose from. I would love your feedback regarding your experiences with these therapists. This will help me to know whether or not to keep them listed as possibilities for others who are looking for a massage therapist in our area. These therapists are listed in no particular order. Should none of them work for you you can also find other therapists by visiting the organizational websites listed at the end. All of these therapists have been in business for a number of years.
